Laser Power/Energy Meters


   LP, LE, LPE systems are the patent (USA and China) products of Physcience for the measurement of laser power/energy, in which LP is for power measurement, LE for energy and LPE for both power and energy. A special absorption material (high density and strength graphite) is used to get wide, flat spectral response and high damage threshold; high sensitive sensors ( thermo-couple pairs for IP 200 series detectors or pyro- electric film for IP 500 series detectors) are used to get fast response and high output, high signal/noise ratio and better stability. The product family has won many awards from international and China and exported to USA as the OEM product of the famous manufacturers of laser power/energy detect instrument Mells Griot and Ophire.

The main advance features:

  • Flat spectral response in a wide wavelength range (0.19-11um) which avoids the calibrations for each wavelength ;

  • High damage threshold (100MW/cm2, @ 10ns pulse) which makes the direct measurement possible without optical attenuators ( it is expensive and may cause attached error; but often necessary for the low damage threshold detectors such as the opto-electronic detectors and others);

  • High sensitivity;

  • Fast response;

  • High thermal stability.
