How to play

Loose Lines is an untangle game with one rule. You get a set of dots joined by straight lines, and you drag the dots around until no two lines cross each other. Every puzzle is generated so that a crossing-free layout exists. It does not have to look tidy, it only has to be untangled.

Under Type you can pick how many dots the puzzle has: 6, 10, 15, 20 or 25, or set your own number with Custom. Small puzzles take a minute. The bigger ones become a slow, satisfying job of sorting out one corner at a time.

There is no timer and no move limit. Undo and Redo step through your moves, Restart puts the dots back where they started, and New gives you a fresh puzzle of the same size.

Credits

Loose Lines is a modified version of Untangle from Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection, released under the MIT License. For physoe we built a new phone-friendly page around it, added Chinese text and removed the original site links. The original copyright and license notice is included with the game files.

Tips

  1. 1Find a dot with only two or three lines and park it near the edge first.
  2. 2Look for small loops of three or four dots and give each loop its own patch of space.
  3. 3Move dots out of the crowded middle before you try to fix individual crossings.
  4. 4If one area gets worse every time you touch it, leave it and work on another corner.
